We aim to build two sleepbus RESPONSE vehicles, capable of providing up to 40 beds rapidly. What this means, is when a disaster strikes, we can mobilise our volunteer drivers to jump in the seat and drive where we are needed, able to get to most central and eastern parts of Australia within 24-48 hours.

The vehicles will be housed at a centrally located depot such as the Canberra region, where they can be deployed at a moments notice. We have a network of volunteer drivers ready to go and a supportive Partner able to provide depot space and vehicle maintenance.

Our drivers will deliver our sleepbus RESPONSE vehicles to the disaster area, where they will be handed over to the local command (fire/SES etc) to use at their discretion. While we have identified this service to be of great use to providing sleeping quarters for the first responders themselves, these vehicles can be used to help victims of disasters with emergency accommodation until suitable longer term accommodation is arranged.

sleepbus RESPONSE, just like the sleepbus Services we operate around the country, is designed to be an emergency, temporary option to keep people safe and health during times of need.
